About Me

Hi, I'm Shivani, an explorer on this path of discovery. I've been practicing yoga for over 15 years and decided a few years ago to take a deeper step. When I first started this journey, as I like to call it, I was on this path of uncertainty, a lack of confidence and found that my inner voice of truth was buried deep within.

So often I share this quote by Anais Nin, "And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom".

These words hold so true to me and I've found that my practice, this journey has allowed me to loosen the constrictions and feel into the spaces in between.

Teaching yoga was not on the horizon and it was thanks to an opera singer and former boss that I found my inner voice which led me on this path to share yoga. The practice for me is an intuitive practice where we use the postures, the forms, to explore our inner sacred space. As yoga is what we are, the practice of it is for everyone. What I share on the mat is accessible for all. My intention through sharing these practices is that we can all become curious on this forever evolving journey.

The idea for Shanti dans les Cévennes

Over the years myself and my husband, Jérémie, have lived in London, Sydney and Aix en Provence. Jérémie grew up in a village in the Cevennes and loved the calm and magic of this area. The first time I came to the Cevennes, the energy and the beauty captivated me. I left feeling so restored and at one. Before we had our daughter, Samara, we felt a calling that drew us back here - and here we are.

The studio has been something that has been brewing in the background for some time. I wanted things to flow naturally and knew when the timing was right the studio would come.

The name of the studio means peace in the Cevennes. The word Shanti is a sanskrit word and often it is chanted three times. The first for yourself, the second for family and friends and the third time for all beings in the universe.

My intention through creating this space is for you to shift through the layers we can have around us and to come home to ourselves and feel this inner peace within.

I look forward to seeing you in Shanti dans les Cévennes.

Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti.
